Oil painting on canvas. On the back there is a paper label from the Sianesi Gallery in Milan, relating to the artist's personal exhibition in 1955, showing the title of the work. Guido Tallone, Cesare's son, dedicated himself in the first phase of his life mainly to portraiture. After the Second World War, his production also developed into genre scenes, portraits of objects dear to him or of his daily life. His works stand out for their rapid brushwork and bright, brilliant colours, with a strong impressionist influence. The work is presented in a period frame.

Oil on the table. Attributable to the Romantic period, the painting offers a glimpse of a forest, full of plays of light among the branches, and crossed below by a path on which two female figures pass, while a third figure, that of a painter, sits at the edge intent on painting. On the reverse there is an inscription with a dedication by the author "Benevello made for Carlotta Marchionni". The work is presented in a gilded frame from the early 1900s.

Ancient Painting with Women at the Source Canvas XVIII Century

Oil painting on canvas. In a flat countryside, near the ruins of an arched door, a fountain is located on the right: several women gather around it, some already busy washing clothes, others waiting their turn, chatting while taking care of the children. The painting is characterized by a precise definition of the figures, while the surrounding landscape is shaded in colors, spread with broader brushstrokes with undefined contours. Restored and relined at the end of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century, the painting is presented in an adapted nineteenth-century frame.

Painting attributed to Francesco Zucco

Portrait of a Gentleman

Oil painting on canvas. Lombard school of the late 1600s - early 1800s. It is the portrait of a gentleman in a dark suit with a white ruff, placed on a dark background where a curtain can just be glimpsed. The frame has a label attributing it to Francesco Zucco, the painter from Bergamo whose production included numerous portraits. The attribution is not certain, but the work can still be placed in the production of the Lombard pictorial school of the late 17th - early 18th century. The work, restored and relined, is presented in an early 20th century frame.

ARARPI0224079
Antique Painting with Baccus and Ariadne '600 Oil on Canvas

Oil on canvas. Northern Italian School of the 17th century. The scene recounts the Greek myth of the god Bacchus and Ariadne, the daughter of Minos, king of Crete: the young princess, after helping Theseus defeat the Minotaur in exchange for a promise to be married by the hero, was in fact abandoned by him on the island of Naxos. Hearing Ariadne's lamentations, the god Bacchus descended from Olympus to console her, but on reaching the island he fell in love with her and married her. In the scene, on the left, we see Ariadne slumped and crying, raising her face to look at the procession of the god who is arriving: Bacchus can be recognised by the crown of grape vine leaves on his head and the staff with the same leaves, and he holds a small dog on a leash, a symbol of nuptial fidelity; behind him, the Bacchae and fauns advance festively, with tambourines and jars of wine. Hovering above in the centre is a winged putto, who is bringing Ariadne a crown of stars, the god's nuptial gift, which will allow her access to Olympus. The painting, restored and re-framed, is presented in a refitted antique frame.
